John Ghio "Ghi" Bridgers Suiter, age 52, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at his home. Ghi was a graduate of Halifax Academy and North Carolina State University, a town council member in Halifax, North Carolina, and was an independent trucker. He was a member of Jackson Baptist Church, and attended Halifax United Methodist Church for the past 20 years.

Ghi was an avid sports fan and an unbelievably devoted husband and father. Ghi was one of the most generous and caring people to walk this earth. He loved the N.C. State Wolfpack, and never missed a game if he could help it. If one of his girls was involved in a sport, he would be there.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 26 years, Susan Howell Suiter, and two daughters, Emily Arneta and Madison Bridgers Suiter. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce B. Suiter; two sisters, Beth and Jan Suiter; mother and father-in-law, Jackie S. and William H. Howell, III; many cousins and an especially dear friend, John White. He is pre-deceased by his father, John Arthur Suiter, Jr.

Private graveside services will be held prior to the memorial service, which will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Askew Funeral & Cremation Service, 731 Roanoke Ave., Roanoke Rapids, NC. The family will receive visitors after the memorial service.
